For the more adventurous making your own solar panels could be a viable option. I have found something for these kind of folks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYeynLy6pj8.

For those of us, definitely me, that are construction and electrically challenged, I would recommend the following: http://blog.heliopower.com/.

I thought I was crafty

Just when I think that I am crafty and pretty handy I watched that youtube video of how to make the solar panels yourself. I am thinking I will leave that up to the professionals. I think I would probably end up killing myself before it was half way done. I really did like that video. It was cool and yet disappointing at the same time. It was cool to see how it is done. It was disappointing to learn how handy and crafty I really am not. Thanks for the pointers.

LOL yonahzmama ... I know what you mean. I am actually a pretty good do it yourselfer. But after watching that video I knew that getting quality equipment was the key to a good working system that I could count on. That's why I did research into Canadian Solar. What I found out is that they are a company that takes a lot of pride in their products. What's even nicer is that Bob's partnered up with Helio Power who takes the same amount of pride in installing a quality system. Its a win - win situation.
