My parents lived in Burbank in the late 1960's through the 1970's and they used to frequent Bob's Big Boy not only because it was one of the places to see celebrities, but the food was and still is great! We moved out of state and I have my own memories of the Bob's Big Boy Restaurant, but from a different area. The food is always great, affordable and my folks can't believe it's their 60th Anniversary! Way to go Bob's Burbank!!!

I heard about this site over the weekend and I felt compelled to leave my memories. My parents moved to the Phoenix area from Minnesota in 1957. Back in those days, 'fast food restaurants' as they are now called were almost unheard of. My mother cooked our meals everynight and we sat at the family table. I clearly remember making the trip with my two younger sisters and younger brother with my parents to the Bob's Big Boy in Phoenix, which at that time was more than 30 minutes from our home. In those days, you didn't take a 30 minute drive to a restaurant either. There were not all of the convenience of freeway systems. But we made the trip in my parents Pontiac convertible. Not only was it the first experience with a 'car hop' that brought the food to your automobile, but the triple decker hamburger was HUGE. It had special sauce and was the best hamburger I'd ever had. I was sixteen. In 1962, I relocated to Pasadena out of nursing school where I met my soon to be husband. We used to frequent the Bob's Big Boy in Burbank on "date nights". The atmosphere was the same I remembered with my family as a teen and the food was exactly as it had been in Phoenix. The hamburgers were out of this world. The only place I truly remember eating with my now husband where you didn't mind that the burgers were messy. Thank you for the memories. Although, we didn't stay in Pasadena, we did take our children to Bob's in Northern Nevada growing up. Thank you for some generational memories.

I know what you mean. I have some pretty awesome memories of my own from childhood. I remember that one day that my mom didnt make me split my Bob's burger. I kept thinking I could eat the whole thing. I only made it half way through. LOL I never lived it down! he he he

LOL ... you know I could just see that. I know what you mean though. Their burgers are the best! Big on size but even bigger on flavor. Like my username says I LOVE burgers!

You know I would love to see MORE Bob's Big Boys around the southwest. Bob's would be a refreshing change to the fast food chains that are here now. Plus you got to love a place that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time to a kinder and gentler time. Love ya Bob's Big Boy! You rock!

I totally love the prices of Bob's burgers. $9-$12 may sound like a lot of money but you get your monies worth. I have never been able to finish a whole burger by myself. When you get a burger, fries, and a sundae... I can feast for 3-4 days on that much food. Even when I am about to explod I have to keep eating because it all tastes sooo good. I can't go there for breakfast I end up eating so much I am no good for the rest of the day.
